Sôlt Africana Farms secures 6000 hectares of tested and approved farmlands for Castor seeds farming and oil processing business in Nasarawa State, Nigeria

 Sôlt Africana Limited in collaboration with Ros Ventures and African Castor Acres Foundation have recently concluded an MOU to promote Castor Beans farming and oil processing business in Nasarawa State,Nigeria.

The company and her allied investors eventually signed up a memorandum of understanding with the numerous benefitting Community farmers and farmland owners in the state to promote and distribute opportunities in castor beans farming and oil processing business model titled: Castor@Africa™

The First Stage of Cultivating Castor Seeds: Seed Preparation

The first stage of cultivating castor seeds is seed preparation. This involves several steps to ensure successful germination and healthy plant growth:  1. Seed Selection: Choose healthy, plump seeds that are free from pests and diseases. Discard any seeds that are discolored, shriveled, or damaged.  2. Seed Treatment: To protect the seeds from soil-borne diseases, treat them with a fungicide. This can be done by soaking the seeds in a fungicide solution for a specified time.  3.  Seed Scarification: Castor seeds have a hard outer coat that can hinder germination. Scarification is a process that weakens the seed coat to allow water and air to penetrate.  This can be done by:    * Nicking : Carefully making a small nick in the seed coat with a sharp knife or file.    * Soaking : Soaking the seeds in hot water (around 80°C) for a few minutes.    * Sandpapering : Rubbing the seeds with sandpaper to roughen the surface.  * Seed Sow...
